Jay County Patriots Varsity took the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over Norwell on Tuesday. The game was tied at four with Jay County Patriots Varsity batting in the top of the sixth when Mann induced Wyatt Geesaman to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Norwell scored three runs in the third inning, but Jay County Patriots Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Norwell came thanks to home runs by Glasgon and Mateo.
In the first inning, Norwell got their offense started.
Noah Arbuckle led things off on the hill for Jay County Patriots Varsity. He went seven innings, allowing four runs on ten hits, striking out 11 and walking zero.
Hoose was on the mound for Norwell. He allowed five hits and four runs over five and a third innings, striking out ten. Mann threw one and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.
Norwell launched two home runs on the day. Glasgon went for the long ball in the third inning. Mateo had a long ball in the third inning.
