Jay County Gymnastics scored 100.225 to place 5th as a team at the Concordia sectional on Saturday. Homestead won the meet with a score of 109.25. Carroll placed second scoring 108.325. Bishop Dwenger placed third with a score of 106.95. These three teams will move on to the regional competition.
Sophomore Kenzie Ring tied for 16th on vault with her score of 8.8. She placed 15th on bars scoring 7.925. Her score on her no-fall beam routine of 8.2 placed 19th. On floor, Ring scored 8.95, placing 16th. Ring was the top Jay County gymnast in the All Around competition placing 11th with a score of 33.875.
At her first meet back after an ankle injury, junior Halle Hill placed 12th on bars with a score of 8.050. Her beam score of 7.95 placed her 23rd.
Senior Karlie Bullard tied for 16th on vault with her personal best score of 8.8. Her bar score of 7.1 placed 23rd. On the balance beam, Bullard placed 25th with a score of 7.9. Bullard’s floor score of 9.4 earned her 8th place, missing her chance to compete at regionals by just .05. Bullard’s All Around score of 33.2 was 14th.
Senior Randi Ferguson’s vault score of 7.9 was 34th. Her floor score of 8.55 was a personal best and earned 20th.
Senior Riley Leavell’s personal best score of 8.6 on vault was 24th. Her bar score of 5.85 placed 31st. On beam, Leavell earned a score of 7.325 placing 31st. Her personal best score of 8.3 on floor placed 24th. Leavell’s All Around score of 29.975 was 18th.
