Jay County Patriots JV had trouble keeping up with Batesville in a 14-4 loss on Saturday.

Jay County Patriots JV got things moving in the first inning taking a 4-0 lead. Jay County Patriots JV scored on RBI’s from Kess McBride, Sam Dunlavy, Logan McGinnis, & Dyllan Garringer.

Batesville pulled away for good with seven runs in the second inning. In the second J Meer grounded out, scoring one run, an error scored two runs for Batesville, Zink singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Smith was hit by a pitch, driving in a run, and Meer singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Nobbe was credited with the victory for Batesville. He lasted five innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out five.

Sam Dunlavy took the loss for Jay County Patriots JV. He lasted three and a third innings, allowing seven hits and nine runs while striking out three.

Dunlavy, Darius Esparza, and McBride each collected one hit to lead Jay County Patriots JV.

Batesville tallied 13 hits on the day. Zink, Wade, Ratcliffe, Werner, and Meer each had multiple hits for Batesville.
