Despite allowing three runs in the second inning, Jay County Patriots Varsity defeated Hagerstown 6-3 on Saturday. Hagerstown big bats were led by Cochran, Rhoades, and Dale, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Hagerstown opened up scoring in the second inning when Dale singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Jay County Patriots Varsity took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth an error scored one run for Jay County Patriots Varsity and Ethan Myers singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Wyatt Geesaman got the win for Jay County Patriots Varsity. He lasted four innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out nine. Isaac Moeller and Cole Stigleman entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Stigleman recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Jay County Patriots Varsity.
Rhoades took the loss for Hagerstown. He lasted two innings, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out one and walking one.
Dale started the game for Hagerstown. He allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three.
Myers led Jay County Patriots Varsity with three hits in four at bats.
Dale went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Hagerstown in hits.
