Both Bluffton and Jay County Patriots JV had their offenses going on Tuesday, but Jay County Patriots JV eventually succumbed 16-8 in the high-scoring affair.

The Jay County Patriots JV struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Bluffton, giving up 16 runs.

Bluffton opened up scoring in the first inning. San Juan drove in one when he singled.

In the bottom of the first inning, Jay County Patriots JV tied things up at three when an error scored one run for Jay County Patriots JV.

Bluffton pulled away for good with nine runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Crosby Heniser induced San Juan to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Rolston drew a walk, scoring one run, Drayer drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Bluffton, Crist singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, Riley singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, and Nern doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Cook was credited with the victory for Bluffton. He lasted four innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out six. Thompson threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Heniser took the loss for Jay County Patriots JV. He surrendered seven runs on three hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six.

Jay County Patriots JV totaled seven hits. Caleb Hale and Darius Esparza all managed multiple hits for Jay County Patriots JV. Esparza and Hale each collected two hits to lead Jay County Patriots JV.

Bluffton racked up ten hits on the day. Franklin and Nern all collected multiple hits for Bluffton.
