The Jay County Lady Patriots finished their 2014 season at the Ben Davis Regional.

Top individual finishes for the Patriots came from a pair of Patriot hurdlers. Malarie Houck placed 7th in the 100M Hurdles and 10th in the 300M Hurdles. Britlyn Dues placed 6th in the 300M Hurdles and 9th in the 100M Hurdles.

Other Individual finishes for the Patriots included Ciera Barcus (8th in the High Jump), Tasya Smith (10th – 100M), Emma Laux (11th -100M and 12th – 200M), Lexie Myers (16th – 400M), Abbi Dunlavy (10th – 800M), Amber Huelskamp (13th – 800M), Abigial Johnson (14th – 1600 and 15th – 3200), Kellie Fortkamp (16th – 1600)

The Patriots 4X800 Relay (Erika Kunkler, Kellie Fortkamp, Sydney Mathias, and Abbi Dunlavy) placed 6th with a season best time of 10:18. The Patriots 4X400 relay finished 8th (Malarie Houck, Britlyn Dues, Morgan Brown, and Amber Huelskamp) with a season best time of 4:11. The Partiots 4×100 also posted a season best at 53.02 for a 10th place finish (Emma Laux, Taylor Homan, Lexie Myers, and Tasya Smith).

The Patriots finished their season (38-2) winning their 5th consecutive Sectional Championship.

Patriots gets 9 strikeouts from Wesley Hibbard, win 3-0 over Cowan

Wesley Hibbard hopes every outing could go as well as Saturday, as Wesley threw a shutout to carry Patriots to a 3-0 victory over Cowan in seven innings.

Wesley was in control on the bump. Cowan managed just one hit off of Hibbard, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out nine during his seven innings of work.

Wesley lost his no-hit bid in the seventh inning on a single by Luke Miller.

Luke was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed one run.

The game was never in doubt after the fourth, as Patriots scored one run on a groundout by Levi Long.

Patriots piled on two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. A single by Kyle Selvey ignited the offense,, plating Toby McCallister.

Patriots drubs Bluffton, 8-2

Bluffton didn't stand a chance on Monday, as Patriots captured a blowout 8-2 win in seven innings.

Patriots scored three runs in the sixth on Patriots scored in the sixth on an error, a sacrifice fly by Jason Houston, and an RBI single by Tanner Reynolds.

Jason racked up four RBIs on two hits for Patriots.

Levi Long picked up the win for Patriots. Levi Long pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk while striking out three.

Trey Collins ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed five runs.

The game's last lead went to Patriots thanks to a first inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on a two-run double by Jason and an RBI single by Levi Long.

Patriots built upon its lead with two runs in the second. A clutch error scored Chaz Carroll to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Jason's single, bringing home Toby McCallister.

After pushing across two runs in the top of the third, Bluffton faced just a 5-2 deficit. An RBI double by Jake Garnett and a groundout by Colton Ames fueled Bluffton's comeback. Levi Long ended the inning by getting Dane Hoffman to fly out.

Patriots defeat Homestead to win the sectional opener and run their record to 23-1 on the season. Larissa Boles give up 3 hits and struck out 10 to improve to 18-1 on the year. Gabby Hart led the way with 2 HR's, a solo and a grand slam! Boles also had 2 hits including a HR, her 10th of the season. Chloe Steigerwalt also had 2 hits. Katie Aker had a hit that turned into a inside the park HR on an error. Catherine Dunn also had a hit.

Eastbrook scored 5 runs in their half of the first inning, but Jay County battled back to claim a 9-8 victory over the Panthers. The Patriots were lead by Toby McCallister who was 3-4 with a double and two rbis. Kyle Selvey was 2-3 with a triple an rbi and two runs scored. Jason Houston was also 2-3 with a double and an rbi. Keenan James went 2-4 with 2 rbis. Tanner Reynolds and Levi Long both added a hit a piece. Long and Lucas Hendee both added rbis.
After allowing 5 runs 4 hits the first inning, Houston settled in, only allowing 3 more runs. Chaz Carroll picked up the win, throwing1.3 shut out innings.Wesley Hibbard picked up the save.
