JC Girls Soccer Defeats Woodlan 3-1

The Jay County Girls Varsity soccer team had a conference match up against the Woodlan Warriors on Saturday and were victorious with a score of 3-1. The Lady Patriots move to 8-3 for the season, and 6-0 in ACAC. In the first half, Aixa Lopez dribbled through several defenders and secured the first goal in the left corner of the net for the Patriots at 13:02. Woodlan was able to answer back with 2:20 left on the clock. The game was tied 1-1 at half-time. The Patriots came out strong to start the second half. Avery Snow had a beautiful goal sail into the top left corner from 18-yards out on the right side, and made the score 2-1 with 30:54 minutes left to go. Charlee Peters solidified the Patriots’ victory with a lovely third goal assisted by Elly Byrum. The defensive line consisting of Emma Hatzell, Ariel Beiswanger, Araitz Lekue-Magro, and Tessa Frazee gave it their all the entire game without receiving a substitute. Maleah Parsons recorded 4 saves for the game. London Lloyd, Raylah Newton, Raylin Hummer, Finley Hatzell, Maria Laux, Ayla Jackson, Kady Allred, and Gabby Gibson all had a positive impact on the outcome of the game with the time they contributed on the field. Tremendous teamwork by all players both on and off the field today! Proud of each and everyone of you! Next, the Patriots play @ Delta on Tuesday September 23rd. Varsity game only @ 5pm.
