The Jay County Girl's Soccer Team faced South Adams this morning, defeating them with the score of 3-1. The Lady Patriots move to 4-0 in the ACAC, and 6-3 overall for the 2025 season. In the first half, freshman Avery Snow scored the 1st goal for the Patriots (her 1st career goal!) @ 26:57min left. Sophomore London Lloyd had 2 close calls for a pair of goals, but were called off by the ref's judgment. South Adams was able to find the back of the net once, making the score 1-1 going into halftime. In the 2nd half, the Lady Patriots played with heart, grit, and the desire to play their best half yet of their season, and they did just that. London Lloyd scored the 2nd goal of the game @ 14:38min left, assisted by senior Aixa Lopez. Sophomore Raylin Hummer made the 3rd and final goal for the Patriots @3:07min left of the game, assisted by London Lloyd. Senior goal keeper Maleah Parsons made 3 saves for the game. Defender Ariel Beiswanger also made an incredible save in goal when the ball was fumbling in the goal box and South Adams was attempting to sneak a goal in. Defenders Tessa Frazee, Araitz Lekue Magro, and Emma Hatzell made a huge impact on the Patriots success and gave 100% the entirety of the game. Maria Laux, Elly Byrum, Charlee Peters, Finley Hatzell, Raylah Newton, Gabby Gibson, Ayla Jackson, and Kady Allred also all got minutes played in the game, and contributed to the Patriots win. The victory against South Adams was a hard fought battle to the very end, and because of this, the Lady Patriots grew stronger as a team, making their coaches very proud. Next, the Lady Patriots play another ACAC conference opponent on Thursday, September 18th @ Southern Wells @ 5:30pm. Go Patriots!!
