It was an exciting night of Jay County Football! The Patriots won an exciting game against the visiting Blackford Bruins 56-6. The Patriots offensive accounted for 179 rushing yards and 255 yards passing. Seven different Patriots touched the ball. None more exciting than #63 Freddie Lingo on a 14 yard touchdown carry in the third. We tell our offensive linemen if they have perfect attendance during summer workouts we will give them the ball and Freddie made the most of it. Nick Laux finished 8-11 passing for 222 yards and 3 TDs in the air along with a rushing score. Brady Jetmore, Carter Fugiett and Leighton Brown all found the endzone as well. The offensive production was lead by a physical group up front in Garret Dillon, Freddie Lingo, Brasen Glassford, Parker Moore and Cohen Shimp. The Patriot defense was stout in holding the opponent's offense to under 100 yards and a lone score. Seniors Garrett Bennett, Aiden Phillips and Matthew Fisher all stood out as contributors in defensive production. Significant special teams contributions came from Wyatt Foster who averaged 18 yards a return as well as from kickers Jacoby Penrod and Brody Collins. Penrod made 5 extra points while Collins engineered a successful onside kid and two touchbacks.
