Tonight, the Jay County Lady Patriot Soccer Team faced Richmond and were victorious with the score 4-0. In the first half, despite having 6 shots on goal by 5 different players, and 3 goalie saves by Maleah Parsons, the first half ended 0-0. In the second half, the first goal of the 2025 season was scored by Aixa Lopex (@ 24:24min left of the game). Aixa scored again a minute later, to put the Patriots up 2-0. Raylin Hummer added the 3rd goal of the game (@ 17:37min left). To cap off the night, Aixa scored her third goal and final goal scored in the game (@ 14:31min left). After a slow first half, the offense was able to flow and connect in the 2nd half. The Patriots had a strong defensive game the entirety of the game, thanks to the efforts of Maleah Parsons (8 total goalie saves), Emma Hatzell, Raylah Newton, Tessa Frazee, Kady Allred, & Ariel Beiswanger. Six different freshmen made their Varsity debut tonight and contributed to the Patriot's success: Elly Byrum, Maria Laux, Ayla Jackson, Avery Snow, Charlee Peters & Gabby Gibson. The Patriots move to 1-0 for the 2025 season. Next game is away @ Heritage this Thursday 8/21. Varsity kicks off at 6, and JV will follow.
