Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade Takes The Lead Late And Defeats Adams Central Baseball Club (MS) By GameChanger Media Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade topped Adams Central Baseball Club (MS) 12-11 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at 11 in the top of the fourth when an error scored one run. Despite falling down by four runs in the first inning, Adams Central Baseball Club (MS) tried to fight back. Adams Central Baseball Club (MS) closed the gap by scoring on a single, a double, a double, an error, a single, a single, a triple, a single, a single, an error, and a single. Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade got on the board in the top of the first inning after Adams Central Baseball Club (MS) dropped a third strike, Brady Millspaugh walked, Jon Davis III walked, and Millspaugh stole home, each scoring one run. Adams Central Baseball Club (MS) captured the lead, 6-4, in the bottom of the first after Isaac Thomas singled down the right field line, Griffin Bluhm doubled to center field, Penn Shifferly doubled to center field, Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade committed an error, Truman Tomkinson singled down the right field line, and Liam Ripley singled to center field, each scoring one run. Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade tied the game in the top of the second thanks to a double by Logan Wendel, and a single by Sam Wiggins. In the top of the third inning, Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade went back into the lead after Brody Collins doubled down the left field line, Jace Vance singled to center field, and Mitchell Byrum grounded out, each scoring one run. Adams Central Baseball Club (MS) flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on six hits to take the lead, 11-9. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Layne Sipe that drove in one. Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade made the score 12-11 in the top of the fourth after Rayden Sollars singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run. Vance led things off on the mound for Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade. The starter gave up 10 hits and nine runs (five earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out none and walking one. Cohen Bluhm led things off on the mound for Adams Central Baseball Club (MS). The hurler gave up seven hits and nine runs (five earned) over two innings, striking out three and walking three. Collins appeared in relief for Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade. Sollars drove the middle of the lineup, leading Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade with two runs batted in. The third baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Wiggins, Sollars, and Caison Lloyd each collected two hits for Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade. Millspaugh and Wendel each stole multiple bases for Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade. Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade stole six bases in the game. Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade turned one double play in the game. Adams Central Baseball Club (MS) amassed 12 hits in the game. Shifferly provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Adams Central Baseball Club (MS) with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-3 on the day. Bluhm, Shifferly, Ripley, and Thomas each collected two hits for Adams Central Baseball Club (MS).
