Softball To Victory Over Southern Wells Varsity vs Southern Wells Jr/Sr High School (18 - 1) Win Hallie Schwieterman’s Clutch Hitting Propels Jay County Patriots To Victory Over Southern Wells By GameChanger Media Hallie Schwieterman drove in five runs on four hits to lead Jay County Patriots past Southern Wells 18-1 on Tuesday. Schwieterman singled in the first scoring four, hit a home run to center field in the second scoring two, and doubled in the third scoring one. Jay County Patriots opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Jay County Patriots first got on the board when Jaelynn Lykins singled, scoring one run. Jay County Patriots scored seven runs on eight hits in the top of the second inning. Mallory Winner doubled, scoring three runs, Schwieterman homered to center field, scoring two runs, Ava Bice singled, scoring one run, and Brenna Ruble doubled, scoring one run. A double by Schwieterman extended the Jay County Patriots lead to 13-1 in the top of the third inning. Jay County Patriots added three more runs in the top of the fourth inning on four hits. Morgan Missicano doubled, scoring one run, and Lykins homered to right field, scoring two runs. Carley Trinidad earned the win for Jay County Patriots. The right-handed pitcher allowed five hits and one run over five innings, striking out eight and walking two. K Thomas took the loss for Southern Wells. The starter went two innings, allowing 12 runs (10 earned) on 11 hits, striking out none and walking one. Jay County Patriots accumulated 19 hits in the game. Schwieterman and Ruble each collected four hits for Jay County Patriots. Lykins and Schwieterman each drove in five runs for Jay County Patriots.
