Zoe McLaughlin Leads Jay County Patriots Jr High Past YMS 8th Grade Softball By GameChanger Media Zoe McLaughlin struck out 11 batters as the hurler led Jay County Patriots Jr High past YMS 8th Grade Softball 6-3 on Monday. McLaughlin allowed six hits and zero runs over five and two-thirds innings while walking one. A single by Ava Peterson put Jay County Patriots Jr High on the board in the top of the third. YMS 8th Grade Softball tied the game up in the bottom of the sixth thanks to two passed balls. YMS 8th Grade Softball tied the game at two on a passed ball. Jay County Patriots Jr High captured the lead, 6-2, in the top of the seventh when Jaylee Twigg doubled, scoring two runs, Sophia Reagan tripled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run. Ten stepped in the circle first for YMS 8th Grade Softball. The starting pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking none. Maddy Taylor appeared in relief for Jay County Patriots Jr High. Jay County Patriots Jr High amassed 12 hits in the game. Twigg provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Jay County Patriots Jr High with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Peterson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Jay County Patriots Jr High in hits. McLaughlin, Boo Towell, and Taylor each collected multiple hits for Jay County Patriots Jr High. Emme Clark led Jay County Patriots Jr High with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating five walks for the game.
