Andrew Schemenaur’s Big Day Propels Jay County Varsity Patriots Past Muncie Central By GameChanger Media Andrew Schemenaur drove in five runs on two hits to lead Jay County Varsity Patriots past Muncie Central 23-4 on Monday at Muncie Central High School. Schemenaur hit a grand slam to left field in the third inning, scoring four runs, and singled in the second inning, scoring one. Jay County Varsity Patriots won thanks in part to 12 runs in the third inning. Brady Jetmore tripled, scoring one run, Wyatt Foster singled, scoring two runs, Joseph Geesaman was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Aiden Phillips drew a walk, scoring one run, Jetmore was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Schemenaur hit a grand slam to left field, and Carter Fugiett singled, scoring two runs. Jay County Varsity Patriots got on the board in the top of the second inning after Jetmore singled, scoring one run, Schemenaur singled, scoring one run, Foster was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Fugiett was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Gavin Byrum singled, scoring two runs. Muncie Central scored one run in the bottom of the second on a solo home run to left field by Dabney. Campbell homered to left field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the third for the Muncie Central. Jay County Varsity Patriots scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fifth inning. Camden Fraley singled, scoring one run, Fugiett scored after tagging up, Rylee Sollars singled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs. Kade Sommers started on the hill for Jay County Varsity Patriots. The hurler surrendered one hit and one run over two innings, striking out three and walking one. Shelley led things off on the bump for Muncie Central. The pitcher allowed seven hits and 16 runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking four. Byrum and Grant Wendel each appeared in relief for Jay County Varsity Patriots. Jay County Varsity Patriots amassed 12 hits in the game. Foster, Jetmore, and Schemenaur each collected two hits for Jay County Varsity Patriots. Leighton Brown led Jay County Varsity Patriots with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up nine walks for the game. Schemenaur stole two bases. Jay County Varsity Patriots stole eight bases in the game. Jay County Varsity Patriots turned one double play in the game. Jay County Varsity Patriots were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Schemenaur made the most plays with six. Campbell went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Campbell, Dabney, Miller, Emberton, Michelini, Coggeshall, and Conner each collected one hit for Muncie Central.
