Jay County Patriots got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Morgan Missicano tripled down the left field line, and Jaelynn Lykins hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. Jay County Patriots extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the second thanks to RBI singles by Missicano and Lykins. Jay County Patriots scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the third inning. Ava Bice singled, scoring one run, Chloe Brown grounded out, scoring one run, Missicano drew a walk, scoring one run, and Lykins singled, scoring two runs. Norwell scored one run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run to center field by Kaydance Clark. Mallory Winner earned the win for Jay County Patriots. The starter allowed 17 hits and eight runs (seven earned) over seven innings, striking out one and walking two. Kayla Watkins took the loss for Norwell. The pitcher went six innings, giving up 11 runs (10 earned) on 12 hits, striking out two and walking two. Jay County Patriots piled up 12 hits in the game. Lykins drove the middle of the lineup, leading Jay County Patriots with five runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-3 on the day. Lykins, Winner, Missicano, and Brenna Ruble each collected two hits for Jay County Patriots. Jay County Patriots turned three double plays in the game. Norwell collected 17 hits in the game. Leah Werling and Teagan Lesley each collected three hits for Norwell. Werling led Norwell with two runs batted in. The third baseman went 3-for-4 on the day.
