Varsity vs St. Henry High School (15 - 1) Win Varsity vs St. Henry High School Jay County Patriots Defeat St. Henry On Multiple Hit Performance By Jaelynn Lykins By GameChanger Media Jaelynn Lykins collected three hits in three at bats, as Jay County Patriots defeated St. Henry 15-1 on Monday. Lykins hit a solo home run to right field in the third inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the second inning. Jay County Patriots got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Lykins hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Hallie Schwieterman tripled, scoring two runs. Jay County Patriots scored seven runs on seven hits in the bottom of the second inning. Morgan Missicano singled, scoring one run, Jozey Shimp singled, scoring one run, Mallory Winner singled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, and Ava Bice singled, scoring one run. Jay County Patriots added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Lykins homered to right field, Carley Trinidad walked, Bice hit a sacrifice fly, and Chloe Brown grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run. Trinidad earned the win for Jay County Patriots. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and one run over five innings, striking out six and walking three. R Wendel took the loss for St. Henry. The hurler went one and two-thirds innings, giving up 10 runs (seven earned) on 10 hits, striking out none and walking two. Jay County Patriots collected 15 hits in the game. Winner drove the middle of the lineup, leading Jay County Patriots with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 3-for-3 on the day. Lykins and Winner each collected three hits for Jay County Patriots. Missicano, Shimp, and Bice each collected multiple hits for Jay County Patriots.
