History was made at the first indoor track and field meet of the season at IWU on Friday. For the first time in school history, two girls competed in the pole vault for Jay County. Maria Hemmelgarm was the first girl to attempt to clear a bar. Mya Kunkler was the first to clear a bar, then another. Mya Kunkler has set the first school record in the indoor pole vault with a vault of 7'6". Congratulations girls. Adam Alig broke his own 60 meter hurdles record, which was 9.07, with a mark of 8.73. He set the previous mark in December. Within three months he has improved his time by almost a quarter of a second. Congratulations. Next week the Patriots will travel to Fort Wayne to compete in the Bulldog Invitational at Indiana Tech Go Jc!
