Jay County Dominates in Swim Meet Against Adams Central December 23, 2024 Jay County High School showcased its aquatic prowess in a commanding dual meet victory against Adams Central, with both the boys’ and girls’ teams excelling across events. Girls’ Team Highlights The Jay County girls' team amassed an impressive 170 points to Adams Central’s 70. Key performances included: Sophia Hoevel (Junior) led the charge with wins in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:20.82) and anchored the 400 Yard Free Relay to victory with a time of 4:29.57. Brooklynn Byrum (Freshman) dazzled in the 200 Yard IM (2:35.03) and the 100 Yard Butterfly (1:08.84), demonstrating skill and poise beyond her years. Madelynn Snow (Senior) soared to victory in the 1-Meter Diving competition with a remarkable score of 190.35. The girls' relays also shone brightly, with strong finishes in the 200 Yard Medley Relay and 400 Yard Free Relay. The boys' team secured a hard-fought victory, scoring 136 points to Adams Central’s 112. Standout performances included: Carson Westgerdes (Freshman) dominated in the 100 Yard Butterfly (1:04.18) and anchored the winning 400 Yard Free Relay with a total time of 3:56.74. Matthew Fisher (Junior) was a key contributor, clinching the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:07.94) and powering through relay events. Cooper Glentzer (Freshman) exhibited versatility by claiming first in the 200 Yard IM (2:18.64) and contributing to the relays.
