JC Swim and Dive splits with South Adams

The Jay County High School swim and dive team delivered an impressive array of first-place finishes at Monday night’s meet against South Adams High School. The boys’ team claimed victory with a score of 89-55, while the girls’ team fell in a closely contested matchup, 93-85. -Boys 200-Yard Medley Relay: The team of Matthew Fisher, Carson Westgerdes, Cooper Glentzer, and Peyton Yowell powered to a first-place finish with a time of 1:56.22. - Girls 1-Meter Diving: Senior Madelynn Snow dazzled with an outstanding performance, earning first place with a score of 207.25. - Boys 100-Yard Butterfly: Freshman Cooper Glentzer won the event with a time of 1:01.67. - Girls 500-Yard Freestyle: Freshman Brooklynn Byrum showcased her endurance, securing first place with a time of 6:04.38. - Boys 500-Yard Freestyle: Junior Peyton Yowell edged out teammate Lincoln Clamme for first, finishing in 6:19.61. Additional Standout Performances - In the boys’ 200-yard individual medley, Cooper Glentzer earned a commanding first-place finish in 2:22.01. - Avery Wentz led the way in the girls’ 100-yard backstroke with a first-place time of 1:12.23, adding to her strong contributions in relay events. - Matthew Fisher shined with first-place efforts in relays and a solid performance in the 200-yard freestyle.
