Jay County Jr. High Cross Country competed at the ACAC Conference meet Saturday morning. The lady Patriots placed sixth out of the seven teams on the field. Woodland took first (52), followed by Southern Wells (56), South Adams (78), Bluffton (80), Adams Central (95), Jay (144), and Heritage (Inc.). Top five finishers for our girls were Gracie Rowles (14th - 12:57), Abbie Rowles (16th - 13:01), Allie Rowles (39th - 14:15), Alexis Tipton (41st - 14:19), and Kenzlea Bentz (45th - 14:40). While missing one of their top runners, Ango Kato, the boys team were determined to run for the win. Unfortunately, they barely missed first. It was Southern Wells that came out on top (32), then Jay (33), Bluffton (77), Adams Central (79), Woodlan (139). Heritage and South Adams were both incomplete. Individually, Sam Wiggins easily took first with a time of 9:58. He was followed by Caison Lloyd (2nd - 10:32), Carter Lloyd (4th - 10:49), Logan Fifer (10th - 11:32), and Camden Townsend (19th - 12:39).
