JC Girls Soccer Defeats Woodlan 4-1

The Jay County Girls Soccer Team defeated Woodlan today by the score of 4-1. They move to 3-1 for the season (2-0 in the ACAC). Jayla Huelskamp scored the 1st goal for the patriots at 32:54 left of the 1st half. Woodlan notched a goal after. Morgan DeHoff tied the game at 26:21, scoring from around the 30 yard line from a free shot due to a body penalty from Woodlan. To end the 1st half, Morgan DeHoff assisted Raylin Hummer for a goal to put the patriots up 3-1. In the second half, Raylin Hummer kicked a corner kick to assist Morgan DeHoff for a header leading to a goal with 14:45 left of the game. Maleah Parsons recorded 3 saves as goalie for the game. The patriots had 20 total shots on goal, 6 different players with shots. Tessa Frazee, Ariel Beiswanger, Meredith Dirksen, Kady Allred, Raylah Newton, Brilyn Wilmore, & Jayla Huelskamp played huge roles on the defensive end to keep the ball on the offensive side for the patriots. Next, the Lady Patriots play against South Adams on Tuesday, September 3rd @ South Adams @ 5pm, no JV game to follow.
