The Jay County Boys and Girls Cross Country teams both participated in the Neal Charske Firebird XC Invitational in Kettering, OH today. It was a great day to be a Patriot! 7 out of 9 boys and 3 out of 4 girls set PR's. Today's format was slightly different than normal. The races were based on projected finish times, versus the typical school size race. 4 of the boys participated in the Blue Race (most competitive). Caleb Garringer was the top finisher with a time of 16:28 (PR) and a 20th place finish out of 188. Alex Rivers was 113th with a time of 17:58 (PR), Caison Loyd was 144th in 18:31 (PR), and Grant Glentzer was the final finisher in 180th with a time of 19:55. The remaining 5 boys ran the Silver race, finishing 15th out of 18 teams. Bryden Carter was the top finisher in 95th out of 166, with a time of 20:22 (PR). Corbin Bishop was 126th (21:15 PR), John Cook 131st (21:21 PR), Ethan Powers 147th (22:00), and Isaac Hawbaker rounded out the scoring with a 163rd place finish in 23:38 (PR). 4 of the girls participated in the Blue Race. Ava May was the top finisher with a time of 20:21 (PR) in 32nd place out of 133. Abby Fifer was 55th in 20:58 (PR) and Brooklyn Byrum was 64th in 21:18. Alyvia Muhlenkamp was the lone participant in the girls Silver race. She placed 99th out of 105 with a PR of 27:43.
