The Jay County Junior High Patriots Football teams traveled to Southern Wells on Tuesday. The A team won 25-19. Sawyer Smitley started the scoring with a 12 yard run up the middle for a touchdown. Ethan Paxson had a 30 yard touchdown reception from a Smitley pass. Maverick McGill had a 65 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Bryce VanSkyock had the game clinching touchdown run from 45 yards out. VanSkyock also had the one point conversion run. On defense, Sawyer Smitley had tackles behind the line of scrimmage. The B team only played 2 quarters and won 8-0. The winning touchdown came on a Tuck Hemmelgarn pass to Sawyer Hemmelgarn for a 25 yard catch and run. Kasen Litmer had tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Great job boys! The Patriots will take their last bus ride of the year to South Adams next Tuesday to face the Starefires. Go Jc!!
