The Jay County Girls Varsity Soccer Team faced a very tough Oak Hill team tonight (9-0), and were defeated by the score of 2-5. The Lady Patriots are Oak Hill's first opponent to score twice on them so far this season. At half-time the score was 2-0. Brenna Ruble recorded 4 saves on goal for JC. The Lady Patriots were able to get 2 shots on goal. In the 2nd half, Oak Hill came out dominate and scored 2 quick goals within the 1st 6 minutes. JC answered back @ 25:52min by Gabby Gibson reacting quickly and crashing the goal after Macy DeHoff sent through a beautiful cross ball deep on the right side of offensive play. Gabby Gibson has done an extremely great job so far this season at reading cross balls and crashing the goal! London Lloyd assisted the next goal by also sending an amazing cross ball, leading to Brilyn Wilmore scoring @ 19:51min (her first goal of the season!!). Oak Hill capped off the final goal of the game @ 17:35min. Both London Lloyd and Macy DeHoff give full effort during the entirety of the game, and do an amazing job at controlling the pace of the game, and communicating to their teammates. Despite Oak Hill scoring 5 times, JC's defense played an incredible overall game and are continuing to grow their chemistry, led by senior Ariel Beiswanger. There were multiple times in the game Beiswanger swept and made crucial stops to not allow Oak Hill's offensive to flow like they would have wanted. Other defensive players to credit: Maria Laux, Gracie Rowles, Tessa Frazee, Kady Allred, and Nerea Dominguez. Center Midfielder, Charlee Peters is another JC player that deserves recognition for what she does on the defensive and offensive side of the field. Peters has become a dominant leader and continues to work to get better each and every day to make sure this team will be successful. Junior Goal Keeper, Brenna Ruble, ended the game with 12 saves on goal, and has been the perfect addition to the JC Girls Soccer Team this year. The JC Girls Soccer Team moved to a 4-4 record. Next, they play against South Adams on Saturday, September 12th @10am- Varsity only.
