Jay County took on Woodlan for an ACAC conference game Saturday. It turned out to be a battle for both teams. In the first half, it was pretty competitive going back and forth. The score was 0-0 at halftime. The second half was just as competitive with the back and forth. The game came to an end with the score 0-0. This would bring us into sudden overtime. They played two 7-minute periods where the score remained 0-0 at the end of each overtime. Following the double overtime, the game came to a dramatic end with penalty kicks. Brody Collins went first and was able to score. Woodlan went next and was able to score making it 1-1. Cameron Coats kicked second for Jay County and was able to score. Woodlan answered as well making it 2-2. Angel Gutierrez kicked third and was able to score. Woodlan's Pk was blocked by goalie Zavier Hudson making it 3-2, Jay County. Sam Wiggins went fourth and found the goal. Woodlan was able to score making it 4-3. Jaxson DeHoff kicked fifth and was able to score, giving the Patriots the win in conference play. Zavier Hudson recorded 9 saves giving him his third consecutive shutout of the season. Jay County moves to 4-1-1 on the season. Next, Jay County will host Heritage this Monday the 31st starting time @ 6PM. It should be another tough conference game.
