Jay County Varsity took on New Castle tonight. Jay County came out strong when Angel Gutierrez found Rocky Beiswanger for a goal in the opening minutes of the game making it 1-0. In the 29th minute Angel Gutierrez found Eli Homan making it 2-0 Jay County. Then, in the 22nd minute Raif Beiswanger found Blake Collins on the goal making it 3-0. Jay County would go into halftime with a lead of 3-0. In the 2nd half, Jay County came out and picked up where they left off. In the 32nd minute Jaxson DeHoff found Emmitt Reynolds for a goal making it 4-0. Then in the 15th minute, Emmitt Reynolds found Angel Gutierrez for a goal making it 5-0. Jay County would hold on for a final score of 5-0. Zavier Hudson recorded 5 saves on the night in a shutout. Jay County had a few firsts, Eli Homan made his first varsity start and scored a goal, and Angel Gutierrez had his first two varsity assists and goal. Also, it was Zavier Hudson's first varsity shutout as a starting goalkeeper. Jay County moves to 2-1-1 on the season. Next up, Jay County will be back in action this Thursday at home against Delta. We hope to see a large Jay County crowd.
