The Jay County Girls Soccer Team kicked off their 2026 season tonight by playing against Richmond. They were defeated by the score of 3-5. The Patriots ended the 1st half of play with a score of 0-1. In the 2nd half, Richmond came out strong and scored @ 37:40. The Patriot's freshman, Macy DeHoff, answered back and scored her 1st career goal nearly a minute later, assisted by sophomore, Charlee Peters. Macy DeHoff found the back of the net again @ 28:46min left of the half, making the score 2-2. A foul occurred against the Patriots @ 18:20min, resulting in Richmond shooting for a PK and scoring. Junior, London Lloyd, tied up the score @ 13:22min, notching her 1st goal of the season, assisted by senior, Ariel Beiswanger. Richmond scored 2 more goals to end the game @ 11:52min & 9:39min. Brenna Ruble made her Varsity goalie debut and recorded 13 saves for the game. Defenders, Gracie Rowles and Maria Laux had their first Varsity start tonight on defense and played very well. The Patriots took 10 total shots on goal (Macy DeHoff-3, Avery Snow-2, Tessa Frazee-2, London Lloyd-1, Kady Allred-1, & Gabby Gibson-1). The Lady Patriots move to 0-1 to start the season.
