Hallie Schwieterman Drives In 6 To Lead Jay County Varsity Patriots Past Huntington North By GameChanger Media Hallie Schwieterman drove in six runs on three hits to lead Jay County Varsity Patriots past Huntington North 14-5 on Thursday. Schwieterman hit an inside the park home run in the third scoring two, singled in the seventh scoring two, tripled in the fifth scoring one, and walked in the sixth scoring one. Jay County Varsity Patriots got on the board in the top of the first inning after Schwieterman grounded out, and Carley Trinidad singled to center field, each scoring one run. Anna Kalhoefer doubled down the left field line, which helped Huntington North tie the game at two in the bottom of the first. An inside the park home run by Schwieterman gave Jay County Varsity Patriots the lead, 4-2, in the top of the third. Zoe Mclaughlin earned the win for Jay County Varsity Patriots. The starter surrendered 12 hits and five runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. Chey Vatellier took the loss for Huntington North. The starter went six and two-thirds innings, surrendering 14 runs (10 earned) on 16 hits, striking out one and walking three. Jay County Varsity Patriots accumulated 16 hits in the game. Schwieterman and Trinidad were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Jay County Varsity Patriots. Mclaughlin, Morgan Missicano, and Brenna Ruble each collected multiple hits for Jay County Varsity Patriots. Jay County Varsity Patriots ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game. Huntington North accumulated 12 hits in the game.
