It was a stormy night Tuesday at Delta for the Indiana Girls Track and Field Sectional #12. Jay County came in 3rd place. The following were the top placers in each event. The 3200 meter relay team of Saki Onishi, Ava May, Jesse Homan, and Brooklynn Byrum placed 2nd and will advance to the regional. In the 100 meter hurdles, Mya Kunkler finished 8th. In the 100 meter dash, Peyton Carpenter finished 5th and will advance to the regional. The 400 meter relay team of Saki Onishi, Ariel Beiswanger, Maria Hemmelgarn, and Peyton Carpenter placed 2nd and will advance to the regional. In the 300 meter hurdles, Mya Kunkler finished 4th. In the 800 meter run, Brooklyn Byrum finished 2nd and will advance to the regional. In the 200 meter dash, Ariel Beiswanger finished 4th. In the 3200 meter run, Ava May finished 4th and Jesse Homan finished 5th. The 1600 meter relay team of Saki Onishi, Alexis Sibray, Ashlynn Brunswick, and Brooklynn Byrum finished 4th. In the High Jump, Mya Kunkler finished 4th and will advance to the regional. In the Long Jump, Peyton Carpenter finished 3rd and will advance to the regional. In the Pole Vault, Mya Kunkler finished 2nd with a new school record of 10 feet and Maria Hemmelgarn finished 4th. Both will advance to the regional. In the Shot Put, Jaley Stephens finished 5th. In the Discus, Gabby Gibson finished 8th. This has been a great season. We are looking forward to competing at FW Carroll High School next Tuesday to better all of our times , heights, and distances.
