Jay County Varsity Patriots Stymied By Noblesville By GameChanger Media Jay County Varsity Patriots had trouble keeping up with Noblesville in a 9-1 loss on Saturday. Noblesville got on the board in the first inning after Maggie Kern doubled, scoring one run. Ava Peterson singled down the right field line, which helped Jay County Varsity Patriots tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. Noblesville captured the lead, 4-1, in the top of the third after Haley Schatko singled down the left field line, Kern singled to center field, and Bella Hughes flew out, each scoring one run. Addison Retzinger earned the win for Noblesville. The pitcher allowed nine hits and one run over seven innings, striking out seven and walking none. Carley Trinidad took the loss for Jay County Varsity Patriots. The pitcher went five innings, allowing six runs (three earned) on 10 hits, striking out three and walking none. Morgan Missicano and Brenna Ruble were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Jay County Varsity Patriots while hitting back-to-back. Peterson led Jay County Varsity Patriots with one run batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Jay County Varsity Patriots turned one double play in the game. Noblesville accumulated 15 hits in the game. Kern drove the middle of the lineup, leading Noblesville with three runs batted in. The first baseman went 3-for-4 on the day. Reese Newsome led Noblesville with four hits in five at bats. Schatko and Retzinger each collected multiple hits for Noblesville.
