Jay County Varsity Patriots Fall To Noblesville Despite Strong Effort From Hallie Schwieterman By GameChanger Media Hallie Schwieterman collected three hits in four at bats, but Jay County Varsity Patriots lost to Noblesville 6-5 on Saturday. Schwieterman singled in the fifth inning, doubled in the first inning, and doubled in the seventh inning. Jay County Varsity Patriots fell behind by five runs in the fourth inning, but then tried to fight back. Jay County Varsity Patriots closed the gap by scoring on a single and a single. Noblesville got on the board in the top of the first inning after Haley Schatko doubled to center field, and Maggie Kern stole home, each scoring one run. Noblesville added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Izzy Zapp homered to right field, and Kern singled down the right field line, each scoring one run. Roslyn Ervin earned the win for Noblesville. The starter gave up six hits and five runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking two. Zoe Mclaughlin took the loss for Jay County Varsity Patriots. The right-handed pitcher went five innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on 11 hits, striking out none and walking one. Brenna Ruble and Carley Trinidad each collected multiple hits for Jay County Varsity Patriots. Noblesville amassed 13 hits in the game. Zapp, Reese Newsome, and Kern each collected three hits for Noblesville. Zapp led Noblesville with two runs batted in. The leadoff hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Kern stole two bases.
