Jay County wins 16-0 to win the Elwood Classic

Hallie Schwieterman Helps Jay County Varsity Patriots Slug Their Way To Victory Against Elwood Lady Panthers Varsity By GameChanger Media Hallie Schwieterman hit two home runs and drove in four as Jay County Varsity Patriots defeated Elwood Lady Panthers Varsity 16-0 on Saturday. Schwieterman homered in the first and third innings. A home run to center field by Schwieterman put Jay County Varsity Patriots on the board in the top of the first. Jay County Varsity Patriots scored two runs in the top of the third on a home run to right field by Schwieterman. Jay County Varsity Patriots scored five runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. Brenna Ruble singled, scoring one run, Carley Trinidad singled, scoring three runs, and Chloe Brown singled, scoring one run. Jay County Varsity Patriots scored seven runs on six hits in the top of the fifth inning. Ruble singled, scoring one run, Trinidad doubled, scoring three runs, Brown singled, scoring one run, and Ava Peterson homered to center field, scoring two runs. Trinidad earned the win for Jay County Varsity Patriots. The hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking four. Aubree Noland took the loss for Elwood Lady Panthers Varsity. The hurler went three and one-third innings, giving up nine runs (eight earned) on 12 hits, striking out one and walking two. Jay County Varsity Patriots piled up 18 hits in the game. Trinidad provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Jay County Varsity Patriots with five runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Morgan Missicano, Brown, Ruble, and Trinidad each collected three hits for Jay County Varsity Patriots. Peterson and Schwieterman each collected multiple hits for Jay County Varsity Patriots. Jay County Varsity Patriots didn't commit a single error in the field. Peterson had the most chances in the field with 10. Kenlee Noland went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Elwood Lady Panthers Varsity in hits.
