Hallie Schwieterman With 3 Hits As Jay County Varsity Patriots Beat Bluffton Hallie Schwieterman collected three hits in four at bats, as Jay County Varsity Patriots defeated Bluffton 12-0 on Thursday. Schwieterman doubled in the first inning, doubled in the second inning, and singled in the third inning. Jay County Varsity Patriots jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Schwieterman doubled, scoring two runs, Chloe Brown singled, scoring one run, and Zoe Mclaughlin singled, scoring one run. Jay County Varsity Patriots scored six runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. An error scored two runs, Mclaughlin singled, scoring one run, Natalie May singled, scoring two runs, and Brenna Ruble doubled, scoring one run. Jay County Varsity Patriots added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Brown singled down the left field line, and Bluffton committed an error, each scoring one run. Carley Trinidad earned the win for Jay County Varsity Patriots. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking three. Kamryn Ault took the loss for Bluffton. The starter went two innings, giving up 10 runs (five earned) on 10 hits, striking out three and walking two. Mclaughlin tossed two innings of scoreless ball for Jay County Varsity Patriots in relief. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit, striking out three and walking one. Jay County Varsity Patriots accumulated 13 hits in the game. May, Mclaughlin, and Schwieterman each drove in two runs for Jay County Varsity Patriots.
