Jay County 8th Grade vs Blackford Jr/Sr High School (9 - 6) Win Jay County 8th Grade jumped out to a 9 run lead through 3 1/2 innings, but Blackford fought back with 6 unanswered runs as Jay County holds on for the victory Monday night. Jay County was led in hitting by Kendel Glessner and Kellan Tout with multi hit nights including a double from Glessner. Jenson Edwards added a triple and 2 RBIs Andrew Myers, Eli Westgerdes, Eli Homan, Roman Clamme, Benton Langenkamp, and Benson Collins all added singles on the night. Eli Homan was the winning pitcher on the night recording 3 innings, allowing 1 hit and 0 runs while striking out 4. Kendel Glessner recorded the save by shutting down the Blackford rally in the 5th inning. Jay County 8th grade is now 6-0-1 on the year. They will be back in action Thursday night with a 7th/8th doubleheader at Yorktown.
