Jay County Varsity Patriots Lose To Shenandoah By GameChanger Media Jay County Varsity Patriots fell to Shenandoah 6-3 on Saturday at Shenandoah High School. Shenandoah got on the board in the second inning after Murray homered to center field, scoring two runs. Leighton Brown grounded out, which helped Jay County Varsity Patriots tie the game at two in the top of the fifth. In the bottom of the fifth, Shenandoah broke up the tie when Cole singled, scoring two runs. Then a single by Masters followed to extend the lead to 5-2. Kade Sommers began the game for Jay County Varsity Patriots. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and five runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking seven. Masters started on the hill for Shenandoah. The starter gave up two hits and three runs (one earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out five and walking two. Brady Jetmore led Jay County Varsity Patriots with one run batted in. The center fielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Murray, Cole, Campbell, and Masters each collected one hit for Shenandoah. Murray and Cole each drove in two runs for Shenandoah. Fredenburg paced Shenandoah with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game.
