Joseph Geesaman Drives 4 Runners Home In Jay County Varsity Patriots Victory Over Shenandoah By GameChanger Media Joseph Geesaman drove in four runs on two hits to lead Jay County Varsity Patriots past Shenandoah 10-9 on Friday at Shenandoah High School. Geesaman hit a home run to left field in the fifth inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the sixth inning, scoring one. Jay County Varsity Patriots came back to win despite trailing 8-1 in the fourth. Shenandoah got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Coffey grounded out, and Campbell hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. A double by Murray extended the Shenandoah lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning. Shenandoah added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Cole singled, scoring one run, Osenbaugh doubled, scoring two runs, and Murray singled, scoring one run. Jay County Varsity Patriots made the score 8-5 in the top of the fifth inning when Geesaman homered to left field, scoring three runs, and Kade Sommers singled, scoring one run. Jay County Varsity Patriots made the score 9-8 in the top of the sixth after Geesaman singled, scoring one run, and Andrew Schemenaur homered to left field, scoring three runs. Jay County Varsity Patriots committed an error, which helped Shenandoah tie the game at nine in the bottom of the sixth. Jay County Varsity Patriots took the lead in the top of the seventh. Aiden Phillips hit a solo home run to left field, to give Jay County Varsity Patriots the advantage, 10-9. Phillips pitched three innings in relief for Jay County Varsity Patriots. The hurler surrendered two hits and one run (zero earned) while, striking out none and walking one. Nick Snow started on the mound for Jay County Varsity Patriots. The righty surrendered five hits and five runs over two innings, striking out two and walking three. Davis started on the hill for Shenandoah. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out two and walking two. Jay County Varsity Patriots tallied nine hits in the game. Schemenaur and Geesaman each collected two hits for Jay County Varsity Patriots. Jay County Varsity Patriots had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Carter Fugiett and Wyatt Foster led the team with two free passes each. Jay County Varsity Patriots turned one double play in the game. Shenandoah piled up 11 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Murray led Shenandoah with three hits in four at bats. Shenandoah turned one double play in the game.
