7th Grade vs Adams Central Middle School (13 - 4) Win Jay County 7th Grade scored 9 runs in extra innings to beat Adams Central 13-4. The 9 run 6th inning followed a 3 run top of the 5th to force the extra inning. Jay County had 3 hitters with multi hit nights including 2 doubles from Easton Johnson, and a double and a single from both Cade Wright and Sawyer Smitley. Johnson had 4 RBIs and Wright had 3 RBIs on the night. Parker Wasson & Weston Bice each had a double on the night while Benson Collins, Cash Reynolds, Mason Paxson, and Ryker Price added singles each. Ethan Paxson started on the mound allowing just 1 run over 2 innings. Bryce Vanskyock had 2 innings in relief giving up 3 runs. The Win went to Henry Teeter throwing 2 shutout innings to end the game. Jay County 7th grade is now 4-2 on the year and they will be in action Thursday night at Runkle Miller Field against Blackford. 8th Grade vs Adams Central Middle School (6 - 6) Tie It was a similar story for Jay County 8th grade as they scored 5 runs in the top of the 5th inning to force an extra 6th inning. Neither team could score a run in the 6th as the game ended in a tie. Jay County 8th grade was led in hitting by Andrew Myers with 3 hits including a double and 2 RBIs. Eli Homan, Jenson Edwards, and Roman Clamme all had a double on the night while Jaylen Brown and Kellan Tout had big singles in the 5th inning to help tie the game. Eli Homan started on the mound giving up 2 runs over 2 innings. Kendel Glessner threw 2 innings of relief allowing 4 runs (0 earned). Andrew Myers threw 2 scoreless innings of relief to lead the comeback effort for Jay County. Jay County 8th grade is now 4-0-1 on the year and they will be back in action on Thursday night on the road against McCulloch Middle School of Marion.
