Jay County Junior Varsity Patriots Fall To Coldwater Junior Varsity Cavaliers Despite Strong Effort From Brody Collins By GameChanger Media Brody Collins collected three hits in three at bats, but Jay County Junior Varsity Patriots lost to Coldwater Junior Varsity Cavaliers 15-5 on Monday at Jay County High School. Collins tripled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth inning. Jay County Junior Varsity Patriots got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Collins tripled to center field, and Parker Moore grounded out, each scoring one run. Coldwater Junior Varsity Cavaliers tied the game in the top of the second thanks to a single by #11, and an error. Jay County Junior Varsity Patriots took the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Cohen Shimp singled to center field, Jace Vance singled to center field, and Collins singled to center field, each scoring one run. In the top of the fourth inning, Coldwater Junior Varsity Cavaliers went back into the lead after #11 singled down the left field line, and #25 walked, each scoring one run. Coldwater Junior Varsity Cavaliers scored six runs on three hits in the top of the seventh inning. #25 drew a walk, scoring one run, #24 singled, scoring two runs, #5 tripled, scoring two runs, and #18 doubled, scoring one run. Brady Millspaugh stepped on the mound first for Jay County Junior Varsity Patriots. The starter allowed two hits and four runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking two. #20 started the game for Coldwater Junior Varsity Cavaliers. The starting pitcher gave up 10 hits and five runs over six innings, striking out six and walking five. Jay County Junior Varsity Patriots collected 10 hits in the game. Vance collected two hits for Jay County Junior Varsity Patriots in four at bats. Coldwater Junior Varsity Cavaliers collected 11 hits in the game. #5, #24, #20, #6, and #11 each collected two hits for Coldwater Junior Varsity Cavaliers. #18, #25, #5, #24, and #11 each drove in two runs for Coldwater Junior Varsity Cavaliers. Coldwater Junior Varsity Cavaliers had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. #13, #25, and #20 led the team with two bases on balls each. Coldwater Junior Varsity Cavaliers ran wild on the base paths, tallying five stolen bases for the game.
