Coldwater walks off Jay County in the bottom of the 8th inning

n Walk-Off, Jay County Varsity Patriots Lose To Coldwater By GameChanger Media Jay County Varsity Patriots fell to Coldwater 5-4 on Monday at Coldwater High School on the final play of the game. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the eighth when Cadin Obringer singled, scoring one run. Jay County Varsity Patriots got on the board in the first inning after Andrew Schemenaur drew a walk, scoring one run. Jay County Varsity Patriots added one run in the second after Leighton Brown grounded into a fielder's choice. Coldwater took the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the sixth thanks to singles by Bennett Spriggs, Obringer, and Rudy Kremer. Brown singled down the right field line, which helped Jay County Varsity Patriots tie the game at four in the top of the seventh. Kade Sommers stepped on the hill first for Jay County Varsity Patriots. The starter gave up five hits and four runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking three. Hugh Hemmelgarn led things off on the mound for Coldwater. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and two runs (one earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking two. Brown, Wyatt Foster, Schemenaur, Joseph Geesaman, Brady Jetmore, and Garrett Bennett each collected one hit for Jay County Varsity Patriots. Schemenaur and Jetmore each drove in one run for Jay County Varsity Patriots. Jay County Varsity Patriots were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Schemenaur had the most chances in the field with nine. Obringer and Derek Dues each collected two hits for Coldwater. Obringer and Spriggs each drove in two runs for Coldwater.
