The Jay County Boys and Girls track team traveled to Wapahani Saturday morning to compete in the Raider Relays and the girls came away with a trophy. The girls won the meet with 102 points. Mississinewa was 2nd with 96, Hagerstown was 3rd with 77.5, Winchester was 4th with 59.5, Monroe Central was 5th with 57, Wapahani was 6th with 37, and Anderson Prep was 7th with 15. The following were the top placers for the Patriots. The 3200 meter relay team of Alexis Sibray, Brooklynn Byrum, Jesse Homan, and Ava May finished 2nd. In the 100 meter hurdles, Mya Kunkler finished 2nd and Maria Hemmelgarn finished 3rd. The 400 meter relay team of Peyton Carpenter, Mya Kunkler, Maria Hemmelgarn and Brielle McConnell finished 3rd. The distance medley relay team of Alexis Sibray, Lyla Kunkler, Eva Carter, and Brooklynn Byrum finished 1st. In the 100 meter dash, Peyton Carpenter finished 5th. In the 1600 meter run, Ava May finished 3rd, and Jesse Homan finished 7th. The sprint medley relay team of Maria Hemmelgarn, Brielle McConnell, Mya Kunkler, and Ashlynn Brunswick finished 3rd. The 1600 meter relay team of Lyla Kunkler, Gabby Gibson, Kali Newell, and Brooklynn Byrum finished 4th. In the High Jump, Lexi Litmer finished 1st and Mya Kunkler finished 2nd. In the Long Jump, Peyton Carpenter finished 3rd. In the Shot Put, Jaley Stephens finished 3rd. In the Discus, Gabby Gibson finished 1st, and Lynzie Tobe finished 7th. The boys took 4th place with 58.5 points. The following were the top finishers in the meet. The sprint medley relay team of Garrett Hidy, Emmitt Reynolds, Colton Glassford, and Grant Glentzer finished 7th. The 1600 meter relay team of Kaiden Reynolds, Sytree Jordan, Rocky Beiswanger, and Jaxson DeHoff finished 3rd.
