8th Grade vs Madison-Grant Jr/Sr High School (23 - 1) Win Kendel Glessner drove in five runs on two hits to lead Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade past Madison Grant 23-1 on Thursday at Madison-Grant Jr./Sr. High School. Glessner doubled in the first inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the second inning, scoring two. Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade scored 17 runs in the first inning on the way to victory. Andrew Myers singled, scoring two runs, Jenson Edwards was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Kellan Tout drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Jaylen Brown singled, scoring one run, Eli Westgerdes drew a walk, scoring one run, Myers drew a walk, scoring one run, Edwards drew a walk, scoring one run, Tout drew a walk, scoring one run, Glessner doubled, scoring three runs, and Myers singled, scoring two runs. Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade scored six runs on five hits in the top of the second inning. An error scored one run, Glessner singled, scoring two runs, Eli Homan singled, scoring two runs, and Roman Clamme doubled, scoring one run. Finn Hemmelgarn earned the win for Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade. The starter surrendered zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out two and walking two. Clamme appeared in relief for Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade. Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade piled up 10 hits in the game. Homan, Myers, Clamme, and Glessner each collected two hits for Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade. Westgerdes led Jay County Baseball Patriots 8th Grade with three walks. 7th Grade vs Madison-Grant Jr/Sr High School (4 - 2) Win Jay County Baseball Patriots 7th Grade were victorious against Madison grant 4-2 on Thursday. Jay County Baseball Patriots 7th Grade captured the lead, 2-1, in the top of the second after Benson Collins singled and scored on a passed ball, and Henry Teeter lined out scoring Mason Paxson. Jay County Baseball Patriots 7th Grade took the lead back in the top of the third inning after Sawyer Smitley doubled to center field, and Collins singled to center field, each scoring one run. Collins earned the win for Jay County Baseball Patriots 7th Grade. The righty surrendered three hits and two runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking two. Beckham Hough pitched two innings of no-run ball in relief. The pitcher gave up one hit, striking out three and walking one. Collins, Teeter, and Smitley each drove in one run for Jay County Baseball Patriots 7th Grade.
