JC Swim and Dive shine at ACAC championship meet

The Jay County Patriots turned in a strong performance at the 2026 Allen County Athletic Conference (ACAC) Championship Meet, highlighted by multiple event wins and two new conference records. The meet opened with a historic swim from the Jay County boys 200 medley relay. The team of Cooper Glentzer, Carson Westgerdes, Grady Warvel, and Peyton Yowell touched the wall in 1:43.83, setting a new ACAC record and establishing early momentum for the Patriots. Later in the meet, Cooper Glentzer delivered another standout performance by breaking the ACAC record in the 500 freestyle. Glentzer won the event with a time of 5:10.13, claiming the conference title and etching his name into the ACAC record books for the second time on the day. Jay County divers also made key contributions. Gillian Keller placed second in the girls 1-meter diving event, while Kali Newell added a fourth-place finish. On the boys side, Bryden Carter earned a runner-up finish in the 1-meter dive, providing valuable points for the Patriots. In the swimming events, Jay County showcased depth and consistency throughout the lineup. The girls earned event victories in the 200 IM, 50 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke, and 100 breaststroke, while also sweeping the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. The boys added wins in the 200 medley relay, 100 butterfly, and 500 freestyle. At the conclusion of the meet, the Jay County girls captured the ACAC team championship, while the boys finished as conference runners-up, capping off a successful and record-setting championship meet for the Patriots.
