On Monday night the boys junior high basketball season got under way with Jay County taking on Norwell. In the 8th grade game Jay County came out on top by a score of 43-41. Abram Lee notched a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Finn Hemmelgarn also had a double double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Job Dirksen added 8 points and 12 rebounds. Eli Homan added 6 points and Dillon Dunnington had 1 point. Jay County also won the 7th grade game with a score of 31-24. Leading the way for JC was Carson Pfeifer with 13 points and Sawyer Smitley with 7 points. Also scoring for the Patriots: Beckham Hough - 5 Cruz Darby - 2 Ryker Price - 2 Carter May -2 Jay County will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Adams Central.
