Boys Freshman Basketball · Freshmen Control Wapahani from Tip to Buzzer

The freshmen boys got off to a quick start as they led by 10 at the end of the first quarter with a score of 11-1. Five different Patriots all hit shots in the quarter including a three pointer form Jackson Edwards.  Jay never let the game get close, stretching the lead to 21-5 at halftime and 31-10 by the end of the 3rd quarter.  The final score was 35-15.

“It was a great team win,” said Coach Clamme. “We had nine players dressed tonight, and they all played quality minutes.  Seven of the nine hit at least one shot from the field, all nine players recorded at least one rebound, and our team defense was outstanding. We made some mistakes and still have things to work on, but the players are developing really well. Wes Bihn was really strong in the post.  Jackson Edwards is becoming a very sound defender. And at the point guard position, Parker Nichols and Abraham Dirksen both handled the ball really well and made good decisions.”

With the win, the freshmen improved to 6-2.  Their next game will be against Bluffton, a team that they defeated in double overtime earlier this season.
